I have created the ultimate packing list to make your trip stress-free and enjoyable from start to finish. My experience staying there is going to help you know what to bring to Atlantis Bahamas.

When packing for your tropical getaway in Atlantis Bahamas, remember that it’s very hot in The Caribbean. I suggest packing lightweight, breathable clothing that will keep you cool and comfortable in the warm climate.
Bring clothing made from natural fabrics such as silk, cotton or linen, as they are more breathable and will help you stay cool in the heat. It’s a hot and humid climate so leave your polyester at home.
The one item I wore every single day was a bikini. After all, you are staying at the largest water park in The Caribbean! I woke up, put on a bathing suit and cover-up and headed down for breakfast.
Swimsuit cover-ups are by far the best thing you can bring to Atlantis Bahamas. You will wear them every day so bring a few different ones. Anthropologie has some very cute dresses and cover-ups.

For pool and waterpark days, I wore a swimsuit coverup over my bikini and then changed into a dress for dinner and the rest of the evening. I lived in dresses and rompers at night because they are light and airy and breathe. And rompers are great for those evenings that are extra windy.
To avoid packing way too much, opt for items that will mix and match. Pack a variety of tops, including t-shirts, tank tops, and lightweight blouses that can be easily mixed and matched with different bottoms. Just because you only bring a few items doesn’t mean you need to wear the exact same outfit twice.
For bottoms, pack a combination of shorts, skirts, and lightweight pants. Consider packing a few dresses that can be worn for both daytime exploring and evening dinners by simply switching up your shoes and adding accessories. This is one of my favourite travel hacks – bring double-cuty clothes.
You should also pack a lightweight sweater or cardigan for cooler or windy evenings.

For a one-week stay, I’d suggest having at least three swimsuits. After all, you are staying at the largest waterpark in the Caribbean and you’re likely going to get wet every day.
Because it’s hot and humid, don’t expect your bathing suit to dry overnight which is why I recommend bringing three and not just two. I brought six with me but I like to wear a different bikini every day 😉
Bring a beach bag that can hold all your essentials when you’re headed to the water. This is the one item I forget all the time. I always end up toting around my purse because I failed to remember a beach bag. Don’t make the same mistake!
Look for a beach bag that is spacious, lightweight, and preferably waterproof. This way, you can easily carry your sunscreen, beach towel, towel clips, and other beach accessories without worrying about them getting wet or sandy.

Towel clips are a recent obsession of mine and I highly recommend them to anyone going on a beach vacation. Pictured below are my pink margarita glass towel clips and I can’t tell you how awesome it is when the wind blows and your towel stays put. No more fighting with your towel sliding down, you can just enjoy your poolside co*cktail.
You should also bring a reusable cup, as you see pictured above, it’s the best way to not only save the environment from plastic cups but also keep your drinks cold in the hot heat. I always travel with a water bottle and a to-go cup for other drinks.
You’ll want to bring a few different sunglasses with you. I also suggest having a cord for your sunglasses so you don’t lose them in the lazy river or zipping down a water slide. I swear by mine and would’ve lost my sunglasses several times over if it weren’t for my cord.

Lastly, don’t forget a hat to protect yourself from the sun’s rays. I love my sunhat with a ponytail holder so I can keep my hair off my neck when it’s really hot. And it keeps my hair up and dry for quick dips in the water.
A word of caution – don’t use a sun visor in place of a sun hat. The top of your head needs to be protected from the sun as well as your face. You risk heat stroke if you leave the top of your head exposed. Wear a proper sun hat to avoid this because it’s awful!
Sunscreen
It’s important to pack a high-SPF sunscreen to protect your skin from the strong tropical sun. Choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen that offers protection against both UVA and UVB rays and that is waterproof. And, if you plan on swimming in the ocean, be sure to get a reef-friendly version.
I wanted to save room in my suitcase so I figured I’d just buy sunscreen when I arrived. Don’t do this! While they sell it at Atlantis, it’s very expensive. Buy yours at home and bring it with you.
You’ll also want to pack a lip balm with SPF. Remember to reapply your sunscreen every few hours, especially if you’ll be spending a lot of time in the water.

Choosing the proper footwear for your vacation in Atlantis Bahamas is essential, as you’ll be doing a lot of walking and exploring. Aquaventure is a 141-acre water park so you’re going to be getting in a lot of steps!
I typically have a rule of three when it comes to packing footwear – 1 pair of sandals, 1 pair of runners, and 1 pair of dressy shoes. For this trip, I’d say you should also bring a pair of flip-flops for the water park. And you can leave the 4″ heels at home because this isn’t the place for them.
What footwear to bring to Atlantis Bahamas should include a combination of comfortable sandals, flip-flops, and sneakers. Opt for sandals that are sturdy and offer good arch support for long walks.
Look for flip-flops that are comfortable and secure so you can wear them both on the beach and around the resort. Bring ones with support for all the walking you’ll be doing. Pack a pair of sneakers or walking shoes for any adventurous activities or hikes you may have planned.

It’s also a good idea to pack a pair of water shoes, especially if you plan on snorkelling or exploring rocky areas. Water shoes will protect your feet from sharp rocks or coral, and they’ll provide better traction on slippery surfaces. Invest in a pair that is lightweight, quick-drying, and comfortable.

When it comes to toiletries and personal care items, it’s important to pack the essentials while keeping it minimal. Atlantis Bahamas provides basic toiletries including shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, so you don’t need to pack these items unless you have specific requirements.
Essential toiletries to pack include a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, deodorant, and any necessary medications or prescriptions. And for us gals, bring something to tame your mane because if you have curly hair like I do, it will get really big with the humidity.
In terms of personal care items, pack a travel-sized hairbrush or comb, hair ties or clips, and any styling products you may need. If you wear makeup, be sure to bring waterproof mascara. Opt for travel-sized or sample-sized products to save space in your luggage.
Lastly, don’t forget about personal hygiene items such as feminine products, razors, and hand sanitizer. These small items can easily be overlooked but are essential for your comfort and hygiene.

For taking epic shots in Atlantis’ Aquaventure Water Park, don’t forget to pack a waterproof camera or case. Atlantis Bahamas offers stunning underwater scenery, and having a waterproof camera will allow you to capture those magical moments while snorkelling or swimming with marine life.
For me, my GoPro is a must-have item for what to pack for Atlantis Bahamas. I had my GoPro and loved filming riding the waterslides.
If you plan on spending a lot of time on the beach, a portable Bluetooth speaker can enhance your experience. You can listen to your favourite tunes while sunbathing or having a beach picnic with friends and family. We don’t leave home without ours.
And remember to pack the necessary chargers and adapters for your electronic devices. Atlantis Bahamas uses the US standard voltage of 120V, so if you’re travelling from a different country, you may need a voltage converter or adapter. It’s always cheaper to buy an adaptor before you leave home. This is the one I have and I love it!
