DescriptionSeeking Nurse Externs to join the Grand Strand Medical Center team!
As a paid Nurse Extern, you will work as a patient care tech, as well as function under the direct supervision of an RN and perform specific and assigned tasks.What qualifications you will need:
Must be currently enrolled in an approved RN Program and completed Fundamentals of Nursing
A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required

What you will do in this role:
You will provide adequate daily patient care and report information to Team Leader.
You will provide a safe and confidential environment for the patient.
You will accept accountability for completion of assignments, demonstrate reliability and dependability, adhere to attendance policies, and utilize time and resources efficiently.
You will reflect the values of HCA Healthcare and our ethics and compliance principles in your daily activities (as stated in Code of Conduct).
You will commit to work 24 hours a month.
You will work1 shift as a PCTand then have the opportunity to work1 shift shadowing an RN

As a nurse extern, your primary role is to shadow a nurse. Some basic tasks include assisting the nurse with bedside skills, taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and performing clerical duties, essentially fulfilling the role of a nursing assistant.

Nurse Extern. (1) The nurse extern may perform nursing tasks as delegated under the direct supervision of a registered nurse in accordance with this section. Those tasks may include the administration of medication or other tasks that have been taught in the nurse extern's nursing education program.
